What I'm Loving Wednesdays-Birthday Edition

8:23 PM

I'm 32 now.  3...2...32.  Here are the things that made turning 32 not suck great.

Here's what I'm loving...

Facebook Posts from my peeps
My favs are the ones that say something fun or a funny memory about me and that person, but I love them all!  Old friends who always remember, new friends, and random friends I never talk to...thank you amigos!

Text from my peeps
My favorite was my text from my sister-in-law.  So kind and specific and thoughtful.

I LOVE when people are specific.  I can't decide if it's just because I'm THAT narcissistic and love hearing great things about myself or if it's because my "love language" is words...a bit of both.

Love from Students
We went on a field trip and as they were getting off the bus a whole class of 6th graders starting singing to me.  Gotta love being a teacher.

I got a few gifts too!  One of my kiddos, a teacher's daughter :), got me my FAVORITE Expos and pens...and a mirror (I think she knows how vain I am).

I also got a really sweet card from a tough kid telling me how much I have changed him.  You've changed me too, my dear, more than you will ever know.  PS.  This little guy was super sweet for at least an hour as the day began...until he lost it and told me he hated me and didn't even want to go on the field trip.  Note to my friends who will have teenagers for children someday...get ready for those raging hormones ;)  Lovin you one second, hating you the next.

Unexpected Gifts
I got into my classroom, after our field trip, and there was this beautifully wrapped bag.  I knew, immediately, who it was from because my friend, FB could have her own line of wrapping and packaging.  It's always perfectly color coordinated and perfectly wrapped.  Inside...best gifts!  My favorite pens, Starbucks card, stationary and (best one) a stamp with the letter K in a bunch of beautiful fonts.  It's self inking and when I use it, I feel super official...as I stamp Science Fair Project Packets.  Don't be jealous of my official and glamourous life.

Perfect Gifts
I have the BEST family and friends.  They are so thoughtful.  They don't just get me gifts they really put a lot of thought into them.

From Tom and Danielle and the kids
My favorite part...the cards.  I'm a words girl, what can I say.  The cards mean more to me than anything.  I have ever single card that anyone has ever written someone other than the standard, "Happy Birthday" in from the time I was very young.  I'm a card hoarder.  Call Intervention.

I got a great card from my nephew that he made himself.  Look at his concentration.  Love that boy!

I got all kinds of great things but my favorite was my new Contigo Water Bottle!!!!  I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.  I broke my old one and it's the best water bottle on the planet.  I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a new one and they found it!  Yessss!

From my Dad
A gift card for a new swimsuit.  I asked.  I received.  Best dad ever.  He's so great.  PS.  Stand by for an upcoming blog about me attempting to use that gift card in a blog to be titled "Why I'll NEVER Go Shopping with Josh Again"

From my Aunt Suz
She knows I'm on the Paleo Train so she got me a Paleo Cookbook!  I'm so excited and it's so pretty!

I predict great things in my 32nd year of life.  Cheers!
