It's been awhile since I've had a good 'ol "Permission to..."

Love Lesson Planning for ASU
It's work and I know it's lame to love it but I super love putting together my agenda, objectives and then planning highly engaging aligned activities to meet our objectives.  I feel like it's a game between me and myself <---- If you're my BFFs, you say that with a lisp.    How engaging and mentally stimulating can you make this class?  My goal is always 100% engagement 100% of the time.

Permission to Totally Copy My Colleague's Office
Hers was so much cuter than mine so I spent all day copying it.  She even helped!

Permission to Get My Mail Once Every Three Weeks
Do you get your mail every day?  There's never anything good in there anyway, just bills and the Red Plum Ad.

Permission to Watch Dawson's Creek
Ummm, I did that.  Somethin' about Pacey and Joey.  Gets me everytime.  PS.  I still wanna punch Dawson in the face.  Also, he's wearing some super scrunchy white socks in a few episodes.  Awesome.  Awesome Dawson?  How bout Awesome Katie for watching Dawson's Creek?  Yeah, you right.

Permission to Save Memories in my Heart
My said today, as we cleaned my office, "Katie, see this binder and these memories?  Put them in your heart.  Put the rest here."  So, we did that...a lot.  I put a LOT of memories in my heart today.  Sorry if it was a memory of you ;)

Permission to Have Set Cut Peppers on the Counter for...3 Days
I'm disgusting.  I know.  They were going bad and there wasn't room in the garbage so rather than take out the trash I put the box on the counter...and left it there...for 3 days.  Exhale, folks, it's all at the dumpster now.

Permission to LOVE Math
I do.  I was at a Singapore Math Training and was so excited to learn and discuss Math!  My friend drew this for me.

Permission to Want This So Bad
Mine is so old and this one is so new.  And it's teal.  My heart melts.

Permission to Think I Look So Smart in Glasses
Don't I?!  Also, I know I have a selfie problem.  I'm sure it means I'm insecure or narcissistic or have no friends.  We can talk about that later.

Permission to...

Be totally ok with not drinking sometimes.
I used to feel like I was depriving myself or I really "needed" it.  I'm actually good without it.  Give me a sparkling water with lemon and a side of no hangover please.  Cheers.

Judge you if you don't buy lemonade from a kid's Lemonade Stand
There's nothing cuter in the world that little ones sitting out there with their lemonade learning their first lessons about earning money.  So, fork out that cash and pay extra!

I wish I knew this kid because he's freaking adorable

Not wear my boot all the time at home.
Eeek!  Is that bad?  What's gonna happen if I don't wear it?  Will it mess up the surgery?  My ankle doesn't hurt at all.

HATE shopping for fancy clothes
I mean, I love the way they look.  I love getting ready (sometimes) but I hate shopping for fancy clothes.

Be SO over these signs.
We get it people.  Keep calm and... It's gone on WAY TOO LONG.  Didn't you actually post one of these posters in one of your old posts?  Maybe.  But it was ok when I was doing it.  Everything is ok when I'm doing it.
Not start my day until 1:30 pm...almost every day.
It's summer.  What am I going to do when I have to wake up, get ready, and get to work all in the span of 1.5 hours?

Binge watch TV
Yes I have gone through 3 seasons of Dexter in about 1 week.  HOW. LAZY. CAN. I. BE?

Really like my house.
I'm such a homebody.  I really love being in my cozy house though.  It's small and set up just right.

Be SO excited that my principal put me in charge of interviewing/hiring
some new music candidates while she's out of town.
I'm overly excited about doing this job.  I was to do a great job and hire the right person because she told me she trusts me.  Eeek, excited and scaredballs.

Bah! Ha! Ha! with this image.  I really crack myself up.

Really believe that EVERY person in the world should have
HAD to work in the service industry at some point.
I can't handle people who are the slightest bit rude to anyone-waiters, front desk, anyone.  Who do they think they are?!?!  I'm ok with being assertive and, very politely, asking for what you want but any sore of condescending tone, I wanna slap them.

Permission to love people who take responsibility for their actions.
High five to you!  Sometimes we do it right.  Sometimes we do it wrong but we never make changes unless we fess up and move on.

Permission to not understand when men unbutton a button or two or three on their shirts without shirts underneath.
Why do you do that man?  It looks Creeps McGee

Permission to assume everyone who looks unshowered and/or sketchy is on drugs.
I don't know why I do but I really do that.  I'm sorry if you don't shower and look shetchy and ARE NOT on drugs, I have misjudged you.

Permission to leave my wax warmer thing on all day and night.
Is that bad?  I feel guilty sometimes but I just want it on all the time...and it's just a lightbulb so it's cool, right?

Permission to hate Vertical Blinds

I don't know anyone who likes these. They all fall down, one at a time. Why the hell does anyone put these cheap things up?  They need to be gone from my house now.

Permission to HATE David Arquette.
I don't know what it is about him, his voice...him. How did you get Monica Gellar?! What a DB...but he did kill it on DWTS one week. So, there, I found the silver lining!

Permission to wish crickets were extinct.
I believe they have been created to annoy me personally. I'm quite the narcissist, aren't I. Whatever. They're annoying, so annoying that I have to wear earplugs to bed.

People to get super annoyed by people who don't take initiative
I don't like it when people, from the couch, say, "Can I help?"

I wanna say, "Can you help? Are you stupid? Can you see me up to my elbows in ingredients, dishes, and prep stuff? Do you see a set table? No? Why don't you do that a**hole? Maybe you can clean up or chop something or anything rather than sit there." Newsflash, if it doesn't feel like you're pulling your weight, you're not.

Permission to LOVE people who take initiative
On the other hand, I ALWAYS notice when people take initiative. Thank you for cleaning my house while I was at work. You did NOT have to do that but I certainly appreciate it. Thank you for volunteering to bring something in for a lesson plan. Thank you for picking up your book when you were done with your assignment. Thank you initiative takers!!

Permission to love summer because I have time to blog my ass off!

Permission to not love my 1st tattoo and, still, want a 2nd.  I was gonna get one last weekend but apparently you can't find an excellent tattoo artist who is available with 2 day's notice.  I thought it was like the nail salon-walk in, get a tattoo.  No?

Permission to love my dog more than life but get so embarrassed by her, when people come over, because she needs Ritalin (or a tranquilizer).

Permission to be obsessed with this case about the 3 Cleveland girls.  I wanna know everything.  I Google it every day.  I just can't believe this story.  How did these girls do it?  So sad.

Permission to be in love with everything teal.  I heart that color.

Permission to love speaking Spanish even though I know I super suck.  Back in my younger days, when I would go out at night, after a few drinks I would only want to speak Spanish.  Recuerdes Michelle?  Raise your hand if you want to spend next summer in a Spanish speaking country with me?

Permission to get teary eyed all the time.  Happy, sad, all the time.  Does anyone else do this?  No, Katie, we're normal.

Permission to be SO relieved that Danielle is coming to take care of me after I get my ankle surgery.  She'll know exactly what to do and, best part, she loves my Scout so she'll take good care of her!

Permission to want a teal cast.  I'm getting my first cast this summer.  When I was a kid I always wanted a cast.  Now it doesn't seem so awesome...but I still want it to be teal.

Permission to be The Princess and The Pea
I got new sheets at Costco.  450 thread count, Egyptian cotton.  THEY SUCK!  They were so scratchy on my delicate princess skin that I'm returning them after attempting to sleep on them 1 night.

Permission to say something bad about Costco
See above.  I'm sorry Costco.  I feel guilty.  I love you but I don't like your sheets.

Permission to Be Late to Work
As in...AFTER the bell rings.  After announcements are over.  After breakfast for the kids is over.  Yeah, that's right...no power last night = no phone alarm this morning = I woke up at 7:13.  No worries.  I mean, it's cool,  it's not like I'm trying to do a good job and become a principal one day so it's cool if I'm late...oh wait.

Permission to Have GAINED 0.5 Lbs During the 1st Week of Our Biggest Loser Competition
Way. To. Go. Katie.

Permission to Be SO Excited When I Sell Products on TPT
Oh yeah!  It e-mails me and says Product Sold.  Current count, $22 made - $60 I paid to have my TPT account.  So, I've made -$38...well on my way, well on my way ;)

Permission to HATE this Dell
Hate.  Hate.  Hate.  There's nothing wrong with it, per se, but it's not a Mac and I don't know how to work it...and it's ridiculously heavy.  There, I said it.  I hate it and I don't think I'm going to "learn to love it" like my mom said I would about broccoli.  Guess what.  I like my new PC as much as I like broccoli and that's not at all.

Permission to be OVERLY excited about an upcoming camping trip...
And when I say "camping" I mean in a cabin with bathrooms and a fireplace and several queen beds.  I feel like a 4 year old waiting for Santa!  SO EXCITED.  I should probably get out more.

Permission to feel sorry for myself and my craptastic ankles
Yeah I think God gave me bad ones.  It's not my fault and you should feel sorry for me too.  If you do, I'll try and pretend I feel sorry for you next time you complain.

Permission to STILL not have a new phone.
Nope.  Still.  And I really can only help you out if you only want to know the time to the closest minute not the hour because I can't see the hour anymore.  I tell ya, I am one classy lady.

Permission to start branching out to new restaurants...starting now.
I admit it.  I'm a chain girl.  I love me some Cheesecake Factory, Chipolte, Paradise Bakery...you name the chain that's in ever city of the US and I'm there.  But as it turns out there are some pretty fab restaurants that are not chains.  I went to one tonight.  Delish food.  Not a chain.  Thank you Humble Pie for helping me see the error of my ways.  Well actually thank you Brandon for that and thank you Humble Pie for providing us some fab food.

PS.  A goal for this year is going to be to learn to spell the word restaurant.  Every single time I get it wrong.

Permission to be super annoyed by overtly attention seeing behavior.
Look at me! Look at me!  It's all about me all the time.  <---That's annoyballs.  Excuse me while I post this blog that is...all...about...me.  Ok, so I'm annoyballs too.

Friends, Family, Blog Stalkers of all Ages...
It's Summer.  You may see a blog every day.  Your welcome OR I'm sorry.  Take your pick :)

Permission to Think this is the BEST Proposal Ever!
I usually am not in to public proposals.  I'm a pretty private person...bah ha ha...I can't even type that with a straight face.  Obviously, I'm not.  I'm on over-sharer.  BUT I am private about some things, like my future engagement.  That was before I saw this.  The coolest, most thoughtful engagement ever.  LOVE.

Permission to Think Old Friends are the Best Friends
I love new friends too.  I love all friends but this weekend I spent time with a friend I've had since high school and you know what...he's still one of the BEST people I know.  Things have changed, like he probably eats less hot dogs now.  And he takes less disgusting pictures.  And he owns less tye-dye, Grateful Dead, shirts than he once did.  But he's still the same; fun, hilar, and so easy to be around...and he married a girl who has more in common with me than almost anyone I know.  WIN.

Permission to Totally Agree with Dennis Leary

Permission to Take a Bath Every Night
Yep. Every. Night.  I know Environmentalist, I'm wasting water.  But I always bring my own water cup and don't buy disposable water bottles so can we just cancel out the water wasting??

Permission to HATE my New Swimsuit
I'm so pissed.  I know which type of swimsuit looks best on me.  I knew when I walked in to Target (don't be jealous of my high class swimsuit store).  I knew when I tried on a different one.  I knew when I bought a different one.  And I still bought it.  And I hate it.  That's $25 I'll never see again.  Lame.

Permission to REALLY want to be on Summer Break
I have a new job that I'm so excited about.  I'm on Curriculum Committee doing work I enjoy doing.  I'm off to Tucson for a conference this weekend.  BUT I WANNA BE A ON BREAK!   I just need a week off, no schoolwork.  No school stuff.  Just summer. Ahh, it felt good to get that off my chest.  I shall plow through and then take a break.
