Yeah you read that title correctly.

So, it's Spring.  The flowers are blooming.  New babies are being born.  And it's about that time of the year for us to starting talking about The birds and the bees and the flower and tree and the moon up above and a thing called loveeeee!

Permission to Hate it When Kids Smell Like Syrup.
Why don't parents give their kids a good scrubbing with some baby wipes after pancakes or waffles?  That smell is YUCK, except on my niece and nephew.  They could smell like poop and they'd still be perfect.

Permission to Still Want Cher's Closet From Clueless.
I point to the stuff I want and click, "Dress Me" and it decides whether I should wear it?  Yes, please!

Permission to Judge my Finances Based on my Shampoo.
Here's my order:
Rich-Aveda
Less Rich-Biolage
Less Rich-Nexxus
Pretty Poor-Aussie
Super freaking poor-Suave
For inquiring minds I have Nexxus in there right now.  I can pretty much guarantee you that by the end of the summer I'll be using Suave...and probably only every other day to save as much shampoo as possible.

Permission to Touch my Biceps a LOT.
I am so proud that there's a little muscle in there, even if I'm the only one that can see it.  If you thought you saw me looking at my flexed bicep at an inappropriate time, you probably did.

Permission to Slack as Much as I Possibly Can in College.
I was running through my week in my head I was reminding myself that I was going to skip class on Wednesday because our teacher said we could miss 1 class.  My brother calls and says, "So, we're allowed to miss 1 class and I'm taking 3 classes right now.  I'm going to skip all 3 of my classes this week."  I think it runs in my family.  Don't worry, we always get As.

Permission to thing Ghiradelli 72% Cacao are Paleo
Yes they are.  They're delicious and I'm not giving them up.

Permission to Come out to my Couch When I Can't Sleep
I don't know why but it works.  I can't fall asleep in my bed so I come to the couch and I'm out.  Anyone else do this?

Paleo Junkie Friends...I'm sure I'm not 100% with some of these things.  They're Paleoish :)

Trader Joe's Pumpkin Seeds
Oh my delish!  Thank you teammate for turning me on to this gem.

Grilled Chicken (That's Marinated in Italian Dressing)
I am so excited to make this.  It's summer.  It's the beginning of my favorite salad! I am forever in Michelle's debt for showing me this easy and delicious chicken so many years ago.  Now, if I could just remember to fill the propane for my grill we'd be set.

Honey
Because it's a fab sweetener.  I just heard about someone using it in their coffee, may have to give this one a shot.

Vanilla Agave Nectar
I only use the tinest bit.  I have had the same thing of it forever but it's amazing.

Iced Green or Passion Tea
BEST. DAY. EVER.  was yesterday when a guy at my gym told me EXACTLY how they make it at the SB.  Ready?  Hang on to your hats and glasses kids cause this, here, is going to change your life.
1.  Get a regular cup of tea (hot) ready.  My fave is the Tazo Passion or Pomegranate.  I also add Vanilla Agave or Honey at this point.
2.  Transfer that hot tea to a big tumbler and fill the other with ice.
3.  Shake it with another cup on top, Cocktail style.  If you want to throw it behind you and do a spin, you can.

4.  Drain it into a cup full of ice.
5.  Smile and thank Katie and her Crossfit friend.

Water Flavored with Fruit
My duty partner and I were discussing this today.  So many options!  Cucumbers, or raspberries and mint, or lemon/lime.  I want to make start making a new pitcher every day.  Ok, let's start small, once a week.

Smoked Salmon
Fresh, Alaskan salmon caught by my family.  I wish my entire freezer was full of this stuff.  PS.  I would NOT recommend eating it on your way out the door to Crossfit as I did yesterday, BAD idea.

Bananas
I eat more bananas than most monkeys.  I put them in smoothies.  I freeze them and make them into dessert.  I throw some almond butter on them.  Ah-mazing.

Paleo Cake
This, Paleo Mug Cake,  is my go-to dessert when I'm in need of something sweet and delish.

Every time I go to the doctor it goes something like this,
I don't feel good.  My throat hurts.  I'm super tired.  My body aches.

Hmm, it sounds like allergies.  What color is your phlegm (PS.  Ew to that question)?  Let me feel your throat.  Let me listen to your lungs.  Let me look in your nose.  Yes, I think you have a sinus infection.  Here's a Z-Pack.

And I'm off, on my way.

Doctor was nice.  He asked questions.  He gave me medicine.  Why the problem?

Here's what he didn't ask.
Tell me about your diet.  What are you eating?  What are you drinking?  Tell me about your exercise habits.

After my first Whole 30, I was completely convinced that 95% (I just made up that percentage but it should be up there) of all of our ailments are food related.  The ONLY thing that is constantly happening is that we are putting food into our bodies.  That's it.  We're not outside all the time (ie: things blooming for seasonal allergies).  We're not overworked every second of our lives. We're not at work 100% of the time.  We're not at home 100% of the time.  It's not allergy season 100% of the time.  However, we are ALWAYS eat or digesting.

Every time I hear people talk here's what I'm thinking:

I'm sick.  My allergies are going crazy right now.
LPIMH (little people in my head): It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage.
But I just have seasonal allergies.
LPIMH: It's still food related.  Try a Whole 30 and you'll see.

My nose is really runny.
LPIMH: It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage.

My stomach hurts.
LPIMH: It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage.

I am constipated (I know, I know but I'm trying to make a point)
LPIMH: It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage.

My kids are sick.
LPIMH: It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage.

My kid has ADHD.
LPIMH: It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage.

I have bad acne.
LPIMH: It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage.

My hair is really dry/greasy.
LPIMH: It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage.

My nails won't grow.
LPIMH: It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage.

I have a headache.
LPIMH: It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage....or drink LOTS more water :)

I'm not a Whole 30 pusher...ok I am sometimes and I wish they paid me.  I really believe that so many of our aliments are food related.  My poor friend doesn't even complain to me anymore because my first question is always, "What have you eaten for the last 3 days?"

PS.  Quick story...
Yesterday I ate pancakes.  Dodging the stones being thrown. Again.  Yes, again.  Yes, for you faithful followers, that's the 3rd time in a week.   I'm going to throw away the pancake mix when I get home.  Pinky promise.

My day had been a little crappy and I emotionally ate.  Yeah I did.  I'm on a the JOURNEY to the healthiest version of me.  I have not arrived.  I still make bad choices...and pay the consequences as you will soon see.

I had an awful night's sleep, for a lot of reasons but really bad allergies all night.  I woke up in the middle of the night and took, not 1, but 2 allergy pills...

All that from the gluten, sugar filled pancakes.  Strong work KC.  Strong work and I thought as I wondered, "Why do I feel so crappy?"
It's food related.  You need to eliminate the garbage!

Permission to hate my vertical blinds.
Why were these ever invented?  The slightest wrong movement and one comes crashing down and is never the same again.

Permission to want all new clothes.
That's right.  I want an entire new wardrobe.  Well, mostly I want an entire new wardrobe of tops.  All my tops are too big, too sloppy looking, too ugly.  And shoes, I want shoes too.  And swimsuits.  And sunglasses.  Ok, yes, an entire new wardrobe.

Permission to only use my foam roller for my back.
I love the foam rollers at Crossfit 480.  They hurt so good.  I can always tell when I've used them because I'm not as sore.  I did not use one yesterday, after 2 WODS, ouch.  I bought one for home and the only time I roll on it is to crack my back.  Opps.

Permission to think Starbucks Passion Tea is good for me.
I love it.  Iced, Venti, 1 Honey, Passion Tea.  Good. For. Me.

Permission to still have an iPhone 3S.
I know. I know.  I'm up for an upgrade but I can't do it.  As soon as I upgrade to the 4S, the 5 will come out the next day.  So, I will continue to hold out and then I'll be the first one to get the 5.  Ha! Ha! Suckas!

Permission to have pancakes...twice.
Ahhh, I have total anxiety about even typing this.  I have to tell you though.  You readers are my Priests and that was my confession.  What's my punishment?  10 Hail Marys?  20 Our Fathers?  100 Burpees?

Permission to wanna be able to do this:

Permission to look at myself in mirror...often.
I have and will admit it again.  I am very vain.  I always look in the mirror.  Although it's better than it was in college.  My roommates hid the mirror from me.  My mother would be appalled to read this, "Focus on who you are on the inside not what your damn face looks like."  I am Mother!  I'm focused on both ;)   PS.  Don't judge me you guys, you do it too!

Thanks for reading!  I heart you!  PS.  My blog is at over 6,000 view!  YESSSSSSSSSSS!
